LEWITT has released Space Replicator 2.0, a substantial update to its virtual room emulation plugin that lets producers audition mixes as if they were playing in different listening environments, from high-end studios to tinny Bluetooth speakers.
The update gives users far more control over each space, with the ability to push and pull room ambience alongside a new global EQ per space, allowing for more tailored, authentic headphone listening. Two new rooms have also been added: an "ideal mixing room" built to European Broadcasting Union standards, and an analytic space offering crossfeed with headphone correction for a natural, speaker-like stereo image.
Space Replicator 2.0 also introduces a standalone mode so it can be used without a DAW, three new headphone emulations, general improvements to audio quality and performance, and the option to save favourite setups as presets. LEWITT says the changes respond directly to user feedback gathered since the plugin's original launch last year.
Moritz Lochner, LEWITT's Head of Product Management, said the company treats user feedback "like a treasure" and was glad to implement many of the requested features in this release. The 2.0 update is free for existing Space Replicator owners, while new users can purchase Space Replicator for $99 or the Essential version for $49.
